One of the most important decisions I made as a bride-to-be was who was going to be my hair and makeup artist! It was the first thing I looked into (besides the venue, of course!). I was super excited to learn that Anjali was available on my dates - I loved her fresh perspective and obvious passion for her craft.
Anjali was extremely professional all weekend making sure we allocated enough time for hair/makeup/outfit without feeling stressed out or rushed. There are times when I wanted to push back and ask if we really needed four hours to get ready but she kindly insisted we did and I am SOOO grateful for that. I felt relaxed before every event with extra time to spare to take some AMAZING pictures beforehand.
One of Anjali's best qualities is that she listens to you, is open to experiment with new ideas, and she won't push her opinions or make you feel uncomfortable. For my Sangeet I had a really unique/trend-forward outfit and I wanted my makeup and hair to have the same playful vibe. She gave me a beautiful pop of eye color without going overboard and a really whimsical hair look with baby's breath accents. Everything stayed in place all night- even after intense dancing and a long garba session!
On the day of the wedding when everything around me was chaos I actually felt glad to be sitting in the hair and makeup chair with Anjali because she gave me comfort that things were happening on time, that I was 100% satisfied with my look, and made sure I looked good for all the "candid" getting ready photographs.
Besides being INCREDIBLY skilled at what she does, Anjali is also a super sweet, friendly, and such a calming presence to have around you for the most important weekend of your life! I would recommend her services to ALL future brides!!!

When it came to bridal hair and makeup, I decided that I was not going to settle, and had doubts that I would find anyone who lived up to my expectations. Not only did Anjali live up to the challenge, but she made it an absolute no-brainer for me to work with her! If anything, Anjali ended up making me look even better than what I had initially pictured, raising the bar for even my own standard.
Anjali is a professional who specializes in bringing out your natural glam, to give you the perfect bridal glow on your wedding day. I loved the soft smokey look she did on my eyes -- an exemplary balance of subtlety, drama, and femininity. As an expert, she was also able to tie in my lip and blush colors to compliment my eyes in a way that all the shades looked like they were born to be there. With many other makeup artists, you find that they apply so much makeup that you start to look like a different person. What I love about Anjali is that she knows how to bring out every girl's natural/inherent "queen" vibes to make you look like the best version of yourself. My makeup was even set so perfectly that it didn't cake or melt off even after 15 hours of wear time!
In regards to hair, my biggest worries were that it wouldn't stay in place all night, and that my dupatta/head jewelry would eventually slide off. However, Anjali was able to set my hair so well that even after hours of intense dancing, my hair did not budge! Even after she set my hair, she made me do the "head shake" test to prove that nothing would move. This girl definitely knows what she's doing and has so many tricks up her sleeve that she might as well be the Houdini of glam.
Anjali is truly wonderful to work with, and has the ability to be your friend while remaining professional through every bit of communication. Especially when you are already so stressed about your wedding day, you don't want anyone to add to the headache. Anjali is an incredible listener, and is great about understanding your vision before starting the day. She wants you to be happy with your final look, just as much as you do. Her polite and kind demeanor, mixed with her insane knowledge of Beauty 101, makes her the perfect person to help you prepare for your special day.

When I first described my Sangeet look to you, I was nervous as I have never really worn lighter make up colors and was scared of the concept of Peach lipstick. But you so easily vanished all my fears when I saw myself in the mirror that day. You were able to incorporate all these colors just amazingly. So many people's initial reaction to seeing me that evening were just complete shock, and I can't thank you enough for working so hard to achieve that shock moment.
For the wedding, I had really wanted a glowing natural look but still look like myself. You completely blew my mind with how amazing everything came out! You were super understanding of my complaining and lip color change, and you managed to do everything at such a quick speed with a smile on your face.
I know you had a very limited time between the wedding and reception but you changed the look SO drastically that I was amazed I could look so different in such a less amount of time! Thank you so much for accommodating our strict schedule. I wanted a fierce and big look for this event and you were able to accomplish that with such ease. The hair lasted well through the night despite all my dancing and jumping.
Folks are always concerned they will hire a vendor who doesn't understand their vision and I went through that mistake before as well. But I cannot begin to tell you how comforting it was to meet one that did. From the beginning of this whole process, you have been very clear with your expectations from me [which as a planner, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate] and with what you think would look good with my outfit and skin color. You are super easy to talk to and are able to relate with the randomest issues I had. Anjali did an incredible job on my bridal hair and make up. She is an artist! I am so glad she was a part of my wedding team.
First of all, she has vision and a very good eye. I gave her a vague idea of what I had in mind and she created a bridal look for my wedding day that was better than I could have imagined. It was very soft and pretty, and I loved that my face still looked like me! It held up through lots of happy tears and photographed beautifully. Anjali creates a lot of her products and color mixes herself, including the hair extensions.
Speaking of the hair, I LOVED it. For the wedding, she created a bun that carried the weight of my very heavy dupatta. I was expecting to be in pain from the heavy dupatta putting pressure on my scalp and neck, but the way she structured the hair and placed the dupatta, I felt comfortable and during the ceremony didn't even notice it. The reception hair was my favorite. It was glamorous and made a statement without being over the top, and it was different than any other reception hairstyle I've seen.
Finally, she is a total joy to work with. The hours in the chair flew by with easy conversation. It felt like hanging out with a friend. I especially loved hearing about all of her projects. She has hustle, and I really respect everything she is doing with her brand.

Anjali was such a pleasure to work with! I was a bit apprehensive because I have heard horror stories about wedding day make-up but I could not have asked for a better experience. I first met with Anjali during the make-up trial, where we talked about my preferences and the general feel I was going for. She was very patient and tried several looks until I was completely satisfied. Booking with her was a breeze and everything was accomplished online. On my wedding day, she was such a calm, positive presence and I really enjoyed chatting with her to ease my nerves. Anjali was awesome to work with for my wedding! She took a lot of care during the trial and listened to what I wanted. She created two very separate looks for my wedding and reception and I loved both of them! I have never received as many compliments on my hair and makeup in my entire life. Anjali did a phenomenal job with my make up for all my wedding events. I had multiple make up trials but Anjali was the only one who actually listened to my concerns and paid attention to what I really wanted as an overall look. Almost everyone I interacted with at the wedding asked me about who did my make up and even after the wedding people approached me for pictures so they could get my look replicated! My sister's engagement was the first time I had bridal party hair & make-up done, and after working with Anjali I wish I had her artistry and skill by my side for every event! I personally have never gotten my hair and makeup done before so I was super nervous that I might look too intense or fake or cakey, but I was in such amazing hands with Anjali. Anjali FaceTimed me a few weeks before my party date to get an idea of what I was looking for and delivered exactly what I was imagining. I really really loved the overall look! I learned about Anjali through a friend and I immediately fell in love with the way she did makeup by looking at her portfolio on her website. She was so nice about fitting me in on the day of my prom even when she had to do the makeup of nine bridesmaids right before me. She knew exactly what foundations to mix to match my skin tone which turned out perfectly. Also, I was really scared about getting my makeup done overall since I had never had my makeup done and did not know how dramatic I wanted it. She knew exactly how to balance out the eye makeup so I didn't feel like it was too much and I LOVED it. Anjali is a bridal artist extraordinaire, and that is no exaggeration. She can do it all from applying intricate make-up exquisitely to whipping your hair into your favorite style from Pinterest, topped by adorning your special wedding accessories and dupata. She has got this art down to a science that even a trial run wasn't necessary when she worked on me for my engagement and civil wedding ceremonies in the Bay Area. If I had done my Indian wedding ceremony here as well, I would have booked her in a second!
The whole process with GLAM Angélique was seamless. Anjali and I simply video-chatted twice to brainstorm looks and then she came over the day of, no trials! I truly appreciated her encouragement and opinions even though she hadn't seen my skin and hair in person. I didn't want to be recreated so that I wouldn't recognize myself when looking back at photos years from now, yet I definitely wanted to look dressed up and bridal. I found that many other artists I considered did not know how to walk that fine line. I was originally concerned because I have naturally curly hair and it is rare to find someone who can work with my texture. Anjali was open and honest in telling me she wasn't as experienced with my hair texture, but I trusted her judgement on a few ideas she had for me and I'm happy that I overcame my reservations and followed her advice.
Anjali is professional, timely and fun to chat with as she glamours you up! Her estimated time on full completion was right on, in under two hours! She also takes the time to clean her brushes between individuals which was very important to me. I received a ton of compliments from everyone including my Mom who is a tough one to please! My looks lasted for more than twelve hours and were picture perfect for our professional photos, both in day light and at night. I have to thank Anjali for her professionalism in approaching this booking. This is the very first time I booked a make-up artist, it was the best decision that I made. Anjali gave us clear instructions on how we should prepare for the appointment. With a houseful of guests, I would not have been able to handle this without Anjali's help. Anjali did my hair and makeup for my engagement photo shoot and I loved how flexible, professional, and polished she was! She came early to the appointment to set up and after a quick consultation was ready to begin her work. I especially loved how well she matched the foundation to my skin tone. She has the skill of quickly identifying what foundation colors to match together to get a perfect color for your specific skin tone. The same goes for lip stick. I loved the different pink colors she matched together to get a perfect light pink I had envisioned for my lips. She even gave me a lipstick touch-up kit to take with me to my shoot so I could keep my lipstick fresh throughout the day! I must start by saying, I LOVE GLAM Angélique, and Anjali Chatwani. She is punctual, professional, and truly cares about the outcome of her work. Anjali from GLAM Angélique was so incredible to work with. I’m a photographer and worked with Anjali on two photo shoots that had two completely different concepts and looks. From our initial conversation, she was so easy to work with and very professional. Any questions or special requests, she quickly responded to before the shoot. When she arrived at both photo shoots, she came more than prepared with her makeup kit. Anjali was able to recreate both concepts from photographs I had shown her and transform the makeup to look even more beautiful than the original concepts I sent. Anjali also gave me total peace of mind. For instance, when a prop would not hold in place, without even asking, she sourced a clip in her kit that saved my photo shoot. Another time, not only did she apply such flawless makeup for my client, but she also created the most alluring hair style and even brought in her own silk flowers to place in my client’s hair. In addition, she always stayed the entire photo shoot for touch ups and was always there if I needed further help. Anjali is more than a talented hair and makeup artist that goes above and beyond, she is also a very sweet person and such a joy to be around. I have had the pleasure to work with Anjali a couple of times where she has done my hair and makeup for my blog photoshoots. I run a personal style blog and showcase different outfits, so I try to be as creative as possible with hair and makeup based on the look. Anjali is SO talented, each time she has created a different look for me - be it a dramatic holiday glam look or a girl next door kind of natural look . She is very patient and pays great attention to detail; many times I have sent her some photos from pinterest for inspiration for the look I want her to recreate and she has always achieved the look to perfection! Anjali has been an absolute blessing to work with. Right from the very beginning, she was extremely calm and professional throughout the entire process. Anjali handled the makeup for 4 of us, my grandmother, mother, sister and I during my other sister's wedding, and I could not have asked for a better experience. Each and every single one of us loved getting pampered by Anjali! Whether it was my grandmother who actually began treating Anjali like her own granddaughter, felt so comfortable with her as Anjali knew what type of makeup would suit an elder woman, or compared to my 13 year old sister who just wanted enough makeup to look like she was all dolled up for her elder sister's wedding but not so much that she didn't look her age, all the way to my mom and I who were told that we looked like we just walked out of Bollywood. Anjali did an amazing job with each of our looks and made sure the whole outfit was complete and in place so we would not have any difficulties during any of the wedding functions.
Anjali was punctual and clean, she had everything organized and was able to get 4 people ready in a matter of a couple of hours. She even told us she was going to come at 4am on one of the days just to make sure all of us, including the bride, were all set for the wedding and fixed up all of our last minute issues with tikkas and dupattas. That morning, Anjali worked for 5 hours straight and was just as happy and energetic as always, which is extremely commendable because she was working hard under major time crunch. Anjali was not only easy to get along with, but was a lot of fun to work with, too. She listened to our own ideas about our looks and knew exactly what to do to make each and every look unique and go above and beyond what was expected of her. She was so thoughtful and had all of our material lined up for us in case we needed touch ups at the events, which is funny because she did such a good job applying it that none of us had to touch up anything during any of the events. The makeup looked stunning! We received so many compliments and I've already passed on her number to so many of our friends, because so many of us know that it is difficult to find a hardworking, trustworthy makeup artist in the Bay Area who understands what South Asian women are looking for at weddings and parties, and who also understands our skin type and makeup preferences. We have loved Anjali's work so much that we're already blocking her for my own wedding that's coming up in a few months.
Finally, I know we had a lot going on in our house while Anjali was getting all of us ready, but she did not let any of this interrupt her work. In fact, she took it all so gracefully in her stride and even worked really well with our hair stylist to ensure everything was properly pinned.
Overall, Anjali was OUTSTANDING to work with and we could not have asked for a better make up artist. She is so easy to work with that you can actually fall asleep while getting your make up done, and wake up and look like you're worth a million bucks!

I am so glad to have discovered Anjali through Instagram. She is probably the most beautiful make up artist I have ever worked with inside and out. My experience with her has been nothing but satisfying. She is very well prepared and likes to plan ahead when it comes to photoshoots. During the make up session, she has been such a humble person in explaining everything she applies on you and is also up for having conversations with her clients. Anjali has such a great eye for detail and knows exactly which features to bring out in someone to make them feel and look their best. Aside from being such a skilled artist, she was a great communicator with the look she was about to provide for me, which I really appreciated during my hair styling and makeover. She did a phenomenal job with my make up for a photoshoot and I highly recommend coming to her for your next event!

Anjali is the only makeup artist and hair stylist that gets it right every time. I can trust her to make me look flawless or any and every photoshoot I do for my fashion blog. She somehow is able to apply makeup that looks flawless in photos AND in person - I have worked with one too many MUAs in the past who made my face beautiful in photographs but frighteningly cakey in person or beautiful in person but washed out in my pictures. I am not very well-versed in makeup, and she just does a great job at advising on appropriate colors and hairstyles that go with my skin tone and outfits. Her attention to detail is unmatched - whatever she does, she does it RIGHT and tailors it exactly to her client's wishes and expectations, not to mention that her makeup is incredibly long-lasting that I never need to touch it up. She just knows how to go above and beyond by bringing her own flowers and hair accessories to make sure her looks have the perfect finishing touch. I would highly recommend her for everyone's special occasion hair styling and makeovers or photoshoot and cannot wait to continue creating beautiful looks for my blog with her. Bonus - she is also a very sweet young lady! Very polite, professional, and easy to get along with.
